info:-The main period of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters, in view of the manga by Kazuki Takahashi, debuted in Japan on April 18, 2000, and closed on April 3, 2001, on TV Tokyo. The season was coordinated by Kunihisa Sugishima, and composed by Junki Takegami, Masashi Sogo, and Shin Yoshida. The English rendition of this season debuted in the United States on September 29, 2001 on Kids' WB, and closed on November 9, 2002.
The season follows Yugi Mutou and his companions - Katsuya Jonouchi, Hiroto Honda, and Anzu Mazaki (renamed to Joey Wheeler, Tristan Taylor and Téa Gardener in the English transformation) - to Duelist Kingdom, a tournament on the island of a similar name, to free the spirit of his granddad, Sugoroku (renamed Solomon Moto in the English variation) from detainment by Pegasus J. Crawford (renamed Maximillion Pegasus in the English transformation). The last ten scenes manage the repercussions of Yugi's duel with Pegasus, including a few filler scenes highlighting unique storylines not found in the manga.
Between September 24, 2002 and February 22, 2005, Funimation delivered twenty DVD sets for the season: twelve sets containing three scenes, three containing four scenes, one with two scenes, one containing every one of the 49 scenes and the last three containing whole forms of the initial nine scenes. All DVDs were encoded in Region 1. The primary period of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters was once in the past authorized by 4Kids Entertainment in North America, and other English-talking regions and nations, and was earlier conveyed by FUNimation Entertainment, LTD. on Region 1 home video and once in the past disseminated by Warner Bros.
